ULG Navigators is a non-profit federally funded program created to help the community navigate the Healthcare Marketplace. We have been certified and assigned by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to assist, free of charge, the uninsured community in the state of North Carolina. From establishing eligibility to exploring diverse types of affordability programs, Navigators help you in every step of the way.
Our focus is to improve health outcomes for the diverse communities of NC, with a special emphasis on increasing healthcare access and health insurance literacy for underserved communities. We provide guidance and unbiased support to empower you to make the best decision possible.

The Healthcare Marketplace is the Federally-Facilitated Exchange established by the Affordable Care Act (sometimes referred to as Obamacare). The Marketplace allows individuals to purchase affordable, high-quality health coverage plans when other means of enrolling in an affordable health insurance plan may not be available.
You can schedule an appointment with a certified ULG Navigator by phone, email, or online.
ULG Navigators are available Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm EST. Appointments on evenings and weekends are available upon request. Please call or email the ULG Navigator Program to schedule an appointment outside regular business hours. Our team is happy to accommodate your scheduling needs.There are several documents you will need to have available during your appointment to ensure that your application is completed correctly, and your eligibility results are accurate. Please review our “Getting Ready to Apply” document for full details what to bring to your appointment with a ULG Navigator.
: Most people can shop for health insurance through the Marketplace. In general, qualified individuals must reside in the state where their Marketplace is, be a U.S. citizen or a lawfully present resident, and must not be currently incarcerated. Since everyone’s case is different, a ULG Navigator will work with you to fully clarify the plan options and any subsidies you are eligible for during your appointment. If you are ineligible for the Healthcare Marketplace, ULG Navigators can assist you with Marketplace complex case and determination appeals processes or help connect you with other resources for low-cost or free healthcare services in your area.
